Pinkpop without Depeche Mode!!! Dusseldorf rescheduled....

Depeche Mode are pleased to announce they will restart their
interrupted Tour Of The Universe in Leipzig, Germany on June 8th. On
May 12th, lead singer Dave Gahan suffered a severe bout of
gastroenteritis, leading to his hospitalization and the cancellation
of the Athens concert. While in hospital, further medical tests
revealed a low-grade malignant tumour in Dave's bladder, which has
since been successfully removed. At doctors' orders Dave Gahan must
take a break until June 8th, to ensure that he makes a full recovery.
The Leipzig show on June 8th will be the first concert following
Dave's recovery.

Dave Gahan sincerely thanks his fans for their support, understanding
and patience. Depeche Mode deeply regret any problems or
inconveniences the cancellations and postponements may have caused.

*AFFECTED UPCOMING SHOWS*

May 30th

London O2 is postponed and will be rescheduled to a new date, which
will be announced shortly. Tickets purchased will remain valid.

May 31st

Depeche Mode's performance at the Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf is
cancelled.

June 2nd

The show at the HSH Nordbank Arena in Hamburg will now take place on
July 1st. Tickets purchased remain valid.

June 4th & 5th

The shows at Dusseldorf LTU Arena on June 4th and 5th will be
rescheduled, however the exact dates cannot be determined until the
2nd Bundesliga releases its new schedule. Dates for the rescheduled
shows are expected to be announced by early July. Ticket holders
should retain their tickets for the rescheduled shows.

#130 Sparkle... butterflies, glitters and cute little Dafni...

Cynthia challenged me to use a lot of butterflies. Not just any butterflies, I had to use a template. I printed the template on some cardstock and on the other side I glued some bookprintpaper and I used gesso, before I cut out the butterflies. Then applied stickles (cute stuff!!!). I'm not totally happy with this...thingy...lay out...whatever, but Dafni's loves it...so I guess that makes it ok....LOL...

Cynthia heeft me uitgedaagd...ik moest iets doen met veeeel vlinders, en dan niet zomaar vlinders, maar vlinders die op het forum staan als template. Ik heb ze op cardstock geprint en toen de achterkant (later de goeie kant) beplakt met tijdschriftpapier en bewerkt met gesso en toen uitgeknipt. Nog wat gespeeld met stickles (leuk spul!!). Ik ben geloof ik nog niet echt tevreden met dit...ding...maar Dafni vond hem super, dus ach....

Tomorrow....the management will have some official news...wether the performance of DM will or will not take place at Pinkpop. The organisation is looking out and making arrangements for replacements, such as Oasis and The Prodigy. All I really want to know is....how the H#ll is Dave.........is he ok?????

Pinkpop is wishing him well, and so am I....praying, hoping, waiting....


Of het optreden van Depeche Mode zal doorgaan op Pinkpop wordt morgen door het management bekend gemaakt. Intussen zoekt de organisatie naarstig verder naar een vervanger daar het optreden van de band met het uur onzekerder is geworden.

De organisatie van Pinkpop wenst zanger Dave Gahan spoedig beterschap.

Ik hoop echt dat Dave ok is....wat een ellende om maar niks te horen....

Made this LO for a workshop I gave yesterday. The workshop was great fun!!!! At least...I thought it was, LOL.....
We made a bunch of flowers, in all kinds of styles, I will show them later.... I'm not sure wether I want/need a title here.... so if you have any suggestions, please let me know....

Deze LO heb ik gemaakt als voorbeeld voor de workshop die ik gisteren gegeven heb. De workshop was weer supergezellig, althans, ik vond van wel, hihi...
We hebben met diverse techniekjes allemaal verschillende bloemen gemaakt, zal ze nog weleens laten zien.
Maar deze lay out...ik weet niet of ik wel een titel wil/nodig vind....dus als je suggesties hebt...ik hoor het graag....

Pinkpop vreest voor Depeche Mode

Het Nederlandse festival Pinkpop begint te vrezen dat zijn headliner voor zondag 31 mei wel eens zou kunnen wegvallen. De Britse groep Depeche Mode heeft weer nieuwe concerten moeten annuleren door de maag-darmonsteking van zanger Dave Gahan. Alle concerten tot en met dat van 27 mei in het Litouwse Vilnius zijn nu geschrapt. Pinkpop-organisator Jan Smeets zoekt al naar vervanging.

Erger dan gedacht?
Gahan werd een week geleden opgenomen in een ziekenhuis in New York en zou daar nu geopereerd zijn. Dat wekt ook twijfels over de uitgelekte diagnose: een maag-darmontsteking geneest vrij snel en een operatie is daarbij meestal niet nodig. Pinkpopbaas Jan Smeets heeft dagelijks contact met het management van de band en zegt in de krant De Limburger dat er inderdaad meer aan de hand is, maar treedt niet in details.

The Cure kan niet
Smeets zoekt ondertussen naar een vervanger voor de middelste dag van zijn driedaags festival, de 40ste editie bovendien. Hij heeft geprobeerd bij The Cure, maar die kunnen niet op Pinksterdag. Een andere mogelijkheid is dat Placebo headliner wordt. De Londense groep rond Brian Molko zou net voor Depeche Mode het hoofdpodium inpalmen. In dat geval zoekt Smeets nog een bijkomend groepje voor eerder op de dag. Misschien is Regi wel vrij?

TW Classic
De tournee van Depeche Mode begon op 10 mei in Israël en eindigt in principe in februari 2010 in Latijns-Amerika. Depeche Mode is op zaterdag 20 juni headliner op TW Classic. (bf)

Depeche Mode may have to cancel their performance at Pinkpop. Singer Dave Gahan is in hospital en it is said he had to undergo surgery. (acc. to "De Limburger").

Jan Smeets admits to the newspaper that the act is in danger and they are looking for replacements.

AMSTERDAM - Het optreden van de Britse band Depeche Mode op Pinkpop gaat wellicht niet door. Zanger Dave Gahan ligt in het ziekenhuis met maag- en darmproblemen en zou inmiddels een operatie hebben ondergaan.

Dat meldt dagblad De Limburger.

Pinkpop-organisator Jan Smeets geeft tegenover de krant toe dat het optreden in gevaar is en de organistatie reeds op zoek is naar een vervangende act.

Depeche Mode regret to announce that they are forced to cancel a further three shows on their "Tour of the Universe". Doctors have advised that more time is needed to allow singer, Dave Gahan, to fully recover from his recent illness and ensure that the tour can resume shortly.

Depeche Mode apologise to all their fans for this inconvenience and wish Dave a speedy recovery.

The following additional shows have been cancelled:

MAY
Sat 23 - Warsaw, Poland, Gwardia Stadium
Mon 25 - Riga, Latvia, Skonto Stadium
Wed 27 - Vilnius, Lithuania, Zalgiris Stadium


Ticket holders for the above shows are advised to hold onto their tickets, as an announcement will follow soon with regard to either new rescheduled concert dates, or their final cancellation.

Another show cancelled.....

Live Nation regrets to inform that Depeche Mode concert will not take place on the planned day (May 23rd).
The official statement from the band says:

We ensure that, according to fans expectations, the Promoter is working on postponing the concert to a new date.

Countdown to Pinkpop

Still no news on depechemode.com. Is Dave still in hospital??? Is he better??? Are there more shows to be cancelled???
The question is....how about Pinkpop? Jan Smeets says he's not worried at all about his headliner sunday 31th may. "I received an email from the managemant that it's most likely that they will play as scheduled".
Apparently Dave Gahan flew home to recover. With a normal stomach flu that will usually take a week or so.

Jan Smeets says the European Countries have only themselves to blame that Depeche Mode cancelled the concerts in their countries. "They didn't vote voor De Toppers, so there's right back at you, they will play Pinkpop".... (LOL, Funny man!!!)


Nog steeds helemaal niks op depechemode.com. Ligt Dave nou nog in een ziekenhuis, of is ie weer beter???? Gaan er nog meer shows gecancelled worden????
De vraag die nu rijst: is het optreden op Pinkpop ook in gevaar? Pinkpopbaas Jan Smeets zegt zich vooralsnog geen zorgen te maken dat zijn headliner voor de zondag het laat afweten. “Integendeel, ik heb een mail van het management ontvangen waarin staat dat we er rekening mee moeten houden dat het wél doorgaat. Het schijnt dat Dave Gahan terug naar huis is gevlogen om te herstellen. Bij een buikgriep duurt dat meestal ongeveer een week.”

Volgens de karmatische Jan Smeets is het aan de Oostblok landen zelf te wijten dat Depeche Mode hun shows daar heeft gecanceld. “Zij hebben verzuimd om op de Toppers te stemmen, dan krijg je dit. Het is hun eigen schuld. Op Pinkpop zullen ze zeker spelen.” (Hahahaha, wat een grapjas)

#128 Wasted time?? Or not???

A challenge from the Channie girls.....the things they come up with!!! This time I had to use a photo cut out and make a background....I kinda like how this turned out, it's a lot of fun to just let your creativity flow...

Weer een uitdaging van de Channie dames....die verzinnen wat!!!! Dit keer moest ik een uitgeknipte foto gebruiken en er een achtergrond bij maken....en eigenlijk vind ik het best wel leuk geworden, het was in elk geval lekker om me even uit te leven...

#127 Card (Channie Sketch)

It really is a fun sketch this month, but it took me a long time to get used to it and actually produce smg..... Still not a masterpiece, but...oh well... a card is a card and each card or other little project brings me closer to 150!!! LOL....

Het is echt wel een leuke kaartsketch deze maand, maar toch heeft het even geduurd voor ik er aan gewend was en er dan ook nog iets mee gedaan heb... Nog steeds geen meesterwerk, maar ach... een kaart is een kaart en elke kaart of wat dan ook brengt me dichter bij die 150!!! Hahaha....

Yes, it really is a bottlecap....the first one I made, and there's one waiting to be made into smg like this as well. Not really sure what to do with it, though....

Ja, het is echt een kroonkurkje...de eerste die ik zo heb gemaakt, er ligt er nog eentje klaar, daar ga ik ook nog wat mee doen. Ik weet eigenlijk niet goed wat ik er mee moet eigenlijk, maar ik vind het wel mooi....

#125 my make up box

This box was originally a gift package of Nivea for men....darkblue, boring little thing....hubby used the Nivea and gave this box to me....for scrappin'. I used a lot of strange stuff, a printed picture I found on the web at the beautiful Challenge Blog ("Art Creations Friday"), of course I'm too late to participate, but that wasn't my intention in the first place, I just loved this picture and I knew what I wanted to use it for, and now I did......

Dit doosje was oorspronkelijk zo'n kadoverpakking van Nivea for men, zo'n donkerblauw saai geval. Richard heeft de spullies gebruikt en was zo lief om het doosje aan mij te geven, om te scrappen... Ik heb hier veel gekke dingetjes gebruikt en een plaatje geprint wat ik ergens op het web heb gevonden, zo'n mooie Challenge Blog ("Art Creations Friday"). Natuurlijk ben ik veel te laat om mee te kunnen doen, maar ja, daar ging het ook niet echt om, ik vond het plaatje gewoon mooi en wist meteen wat ik er mee wilde maken en dat heb ik nu dan dus ook gedaan.....

Dave Gahan in hospital, six shows cancelled....

Sniff....that poor Dave was rushed to hospital right before they were going to play in Athens, may 12. The Istanbul concert was cancelled the next day and now they cancelled four more shows..... I really hope he's well and is getting better and strong enough to go touring again..... it's only five more shows until Pinkpop, so I hope they don't have to cancel that. His recovery is most important of course, we will have to wait and see and only read on depechemode.com because people are writing a whole lot of bs everywhere.

Snif, die arme Dave werd naar het ziekenhuis gebracht, vlak voor ze opmoesten in Athene, op 12 mei. Het concert in Istanbul werd de volgende dag ook geannuleerd en nu zijn er nog vier shows geannuleerd. Ik hoop echt dat hij gauw beter wordt en in elk geval sterk genoeg om weer verder te kunnen touren. Nog maar een paar shows en dan is Pinkpop al, ik hoop echt niet dat ze die moeten annuleren. Maar ja, het belangrijkste is natuurlijk dat hij beter wordt, we zullen het moeten afwachten en vooral depechemode.com blijven lezen, nergens anders, want er wordt weer heel wat rommel geschreven overal.

#124 LO Remember the 80's

And yet another challenge from the Channie girls.... I had to get my inspiration from an 80's ABC..... I did manage to actually get inspired!!! Had to find a picture of myself in the 80's, I chose one from the late 80's, love this picture, so many 80's stuff...that hair!!!! LOL....

En weer een uitdaging van de dames bij Channie, ik moest mijn inspiratie halen uit een jaren tachtig ABC....en het is me nog gelukt ook!! Moest wel even op zoek naar een foto van mezelf in de 80's.... deze uitgekozen, vind hem zelf super, zoveel herkenbare 80's dingen....dat haar!!! gniffel......

#123 Lo I love you (Channie Challenge)

And another challenge from the girls at Channie, I had to make my own lace cardstock....Sooooo I handcut all these little hearts and glued them together randomly, I love how this turned out!!! Now I'm off to go and treat my sore hands...lol!!!

En weer een uitdaging van de dames bij Channie, ik moest zelf lace cardstock maken. Dussss.....ik heb lekker al deze hartjes met de hand zitten uitknippen and zomaar vastgeplakt. Ik vind het hartstikke leuk geworden. Nu ga ik even mijn zere handjes verzorgen...auw...hihi
